Rocks

A rock is a natural substance composed of solid crystals of different minerals that have been fused together into a solid lump.

Igneous-
Igneous rocks are the oldest kind of rock. Igneou
s rocks are formed deep inside the earth where the temperature is very high. Some Igneous rocks float because a large number of air bubbles are trapped inside. Igneous rocks can be found near volcanoes such as Duluth hill in Duluth, MN. They can also be found near Diamond Bar Volcano in Hawaii. This is a picture of a Igneous rock.

Metamorphic-Metamorphic rocks are rocks that have changed from 1 form to another. These rocks form deep in the earth where it is very hot and there is a lot of pressure. This is a picture of a Metamorphic rock

Sedimentary-Sedimentary rocks are made from sediments. Sediments are other small pieces of rocks. They turn into pebbles, gravel, sand and clay. As they settle, they pile up and form layers. This is a picture of a Sedimentary rock.
