The Golden Wishing Ring

Meanwhile the farmer reached home and showed his ring to his wife. "Now we cannot fail to make our fortune," he said.

"We must think very carefully how we shall use our wish."
"Why don't we wish for the land next door so that our farm can be twice as big?" said his wife. "Well that would be all right," said the farmer,"but I'd rather try really hard and see if we can save the money for the land, and in that way we will still have our wish."

And
that's what happened. They worked so hard that they were able to get the land next door."Let's wish for a horse and a cow," said the wife.
"No, we don't need to waste our wish," said the farmer. "If we work hard it will not take long to buy the land. Sure enough, they were able to by a beautiful horse and cow.

Camp at Yirrigai-day 1

Day 1: On Wednesday 20th May year 4 went to Yirrigai for 3 days. These are the teachers that came with us- Ms Malenzie, Mr McToud and Mrs Clawless. After the bell rang 4M lined up behind 4C and we walked to the front of the school with our luggage's, while Miss Malenzie called the roll. As she called our names we put our bags on the bus and then we hopped on. It took half an hour to get to Yirrigai.

When we got there we hopped off the bus and got our bags. Right in front of us were 2 members of Yirrigai. Their names were Sue and Ken. Then they took them to the front of the cabins. We put our bags down and went off to the hall and ate some Yirrigai biscuits. They were really yummy. Ken told us that the hall was our meeting room and when you hear a fire alarm it means "go to the meeting room". Then we got a gold addition Yirrigai drink bottle. So we went to fill them up. When we filled our bottles up we sat down and had a rest. Then Ken told us our table groups. I was in table group 6. In my group was Celina, Tilly, Tim, Anne, Drew and me.

Then we went back to the cabins and Mr McTou
d called out the cabin groups. We waited quite a while to hear what cabin group we were in. Finally he called cabin group 2 with Lietta, Emma, Charlie, Alira(ME), Tara, Melli and Livy. We were all in the same group. We were so excited that we almost screamed!! So we carried our bags around the people and into our beautiful cabins. We only got 30 minutes to make our beds and put our bags on the shelf.

This is a picture of the cool cabins.

After the 30 minutes had gone we got ready for a walk around Yirrigai. Miss Malenzie went to everyone's cabin to remind us about the walk and that the fire alarm will go off soon. When it did go off we all went to the meeting area. Then Ken said that it was lunch time so we walked slowly to the dining room where table group 1 had set the tables for us. We sat down and waited for our table group number to be called. Then Miss Malenzie called table group 6 (my group) to come out and get our lunch. For lunch we had 2 sausage rolls each, some salad and for a drink we had apple juice. I thought I wouldn't be able to eat 2 sausage rolls and some salad because my tummy was full but to my amazement I did eat it!

After that we went to our cabins to get ready for activities. I was in group 2. Luckily I was with one of my 2 best friends Livy and Charlie! When we got to the meeting area there were 2 cones. Ken was holding a piece of paper. After a few minutes he read out the 2 groups on the piece of paper. I was happy I was with my friends. Our leader was Sue.

The first activity we did was photo orienteering. We all were split into groups. Every group got a sheet with photos with all different kinds of things. Once you have found one of the pictures there is a clicker. You put a sheet of paper in the middle and push the clicker down on the paper. Once you have found every photo you go to the teachers and get another sheet.

After that activity we had dinner. For dinner we had roast. It was really nice but I felt really sick with a tummy bug. I couldn't finish it at all. So I just sat there eating little bits by bit.

Once dinner had finished we went to our cabins and showered our selves. Once I was in every one kept telling me to hurry up because they thought that they only had 10 minutes but we had 40! They rushed me so much that I didn't get to rinse my hair properly and I had shampoo and conditioner in my eyes and they were stinging!!

Once everybody finished showering themselves we put our pj's on. Then the teachers came into our cabin to tell us to bring pillows and come outside. Then I saw Mrs Clawless carrying a "Camp Rock" DVD! We followed the teacher to the theater room and sat down on the blocks. We made our selves comfortable and Mrs Clawless started the DVD. These are some of the characters in the movie. There is Demi Lovato-Mitchie Torres, Nick Jonas-Nate, Joe Jonas-Shane Gray, Kevin Jonas-Jason, Meaghan Jette Martin-Tess Tyler, Maria Canals-Barrera-Connie Torres, Alyson Stoner-Caitlyn Geller and lots more.

In the middle of the movie some boys jumped up and started dancing to the music. It was kind of annoying but we all ignored it. Also my eyes started watering because of the shampoo and conditioner in my eyes. At the end of the movie Emma and Livy started singing to the music but softly. Then we lined up and went to our cabins.

When we got inside we brushed our hair and said good night to each other. Then we turned out the lights and went to sleep.

Ali Baba

The men stayed inside the rock for some time but Ali Baba didn't move. At last the door opened and forty men came out. The door closed and the rock led like an ordinary rock again.

Then the men galloped away. As soon as they were gone, Ali Baba climbed down and stared at the rock for a long time.

Then he cried, "Open Sesame!"

The door opened. Ali Baba went inside and couldn't believe his eyes. There was treasure everywhere.

Gold and silver lay in heaps on the floor and jars were filled to the brim with gleaming jewels. Costly silks were thrown everywhere. Rare carpets were heaped in the treasure. Money bags lay in piles.

When Ali Baba saw this, he was sure the 40 men had been robbers, and that this was their treasure.

"Thank god they didn't see me," he thought.

Bed time story for Princess Pea

Once upon a time there lived a little girl called Princess Pea. Princess Pea had a Mother called Queen Esmeralda, a Father called King Arther, a brother called Prince George and a little sister called Princess Sophie. They lived in a grand castle far, far away in a land called England. One day an evil widow called Nenassy made a plan to rule the land by taking away the King to the place called Never Never land. Once she got the King she decided to get the Queen too since she thought it was so easy. Once she got hold of the Queen she woke up. But Nenassy thought up a trick at once. She said that her child was crying so she came up to help and she also saw that Queen Esmeralda had fallen of her bed. So she helped her up. Nenassy had disguised herself as one of the rich people because Nenassy has been in jail at the castle. So they decided to invite her to a "thank you" party but Prince George, Princess Pea and Princess Sophie recognised the face and decided to stay in Prince George's room. They tryed to make a plan but it was too hard to think of one.So instead of dobbing they decided to think of something else instead. Just when the maids where setting the table for the "thank you" party the children put wriggly worms in the sandwiches on Nenassy's plate! But to their surprise when they all sat down and ate their sandwitches Nenassy said her sandwitches where delicious!!! The kids were amazed. They thought that she would hate it. Prince George said that she has been in the castle jail for months and for her food she would of been fed worms! While they were eating Nenassy realised that this was one of the best days of her life! She was so happy to be treated like this instead of being fed yukky things in the jail. So when the party was over she went home with a really big smile on her face. When she went home she looked at her house with cob webs, spiders, dirty walls and messy rooms. "Oh dear, this place is a disgrace" She said. So she decided to brighten up her house. She painted the house walls bright yellow, she cleaned the cob webs, tidied the rooms until they were sparkling. Then she decided to invite people over for a party. Then she thought about the mean things she has done in the past. She felt so sorry that she started to cry. Nenassy had learned a lesson not to be mean to anyone ever again.
The End!!!!

Rocks

A rock is a natural substance composed of solid crystals of different minerals that have been fused together into a solid lump.

Igneous-
Igneous rocks are the oldest kind of rock. Igneou
s rocks are formed deep inside the earth where the temperature is very high. Some Igneous rocks float because a large number of air bubbles are trapped inside. Igneous rocks can be found near volcanoes such as Duluth hill in Duluth, MN. They can also be found near Diamond Bar Volcano in Hawaii. This is a picture of a Igneous rock.

Metamorphic-Metamorphic rocks are rocks that have changed from 1 form to another. These rocks form deep in the earth where it is very hot and there is a lot of pressure. This is a picture of a Metamorphic rock

Sedimentary-Sedimentary rocks are made from sediments. Sediments are other small pieces of rocks. They turn into pebbles, gravel, sand and clay. As they settle, they pile up and form layers. This is a picture of a Sedimentary rock.

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields the Poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below We are the dead, Short days ago
We lived, felt down, saw sunset glow Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders Field
